SportPlus Air Walker Review

Is The SportPlus Air Walker Ideal For Seniors?

SportPlus Air WalkerA machine like the SportPlus Air Walker won’t catch the eye of fitness fanatics but it will interest the less able user that wants a little security as they workout.

The machine looks like a “safe” version of an elliptical cross trainer with large footplates and stationary handlebars.

The big difference here is the shape and function of the folding frame around the machine. It doesn’t look pretty, but it does look like it could offer a low-impact session for the less able.

The Pros and Cons of this SportPlus Air Walker.

Pros:

  •  The stability of the folding frame
  •  The size and motion of the footplates
  •  The additional console for data

Cons:

  •  German instructions
  •  Some broken pieces on arrival

One of the selling points of this SportPlus Low-Impact Nordic Walker is that it is designed for use by the elderly and those with minimal mobility.

There is a wide frame so users can step on and off the footplates with ease. Those footplates are also low enough to the ground not to be a problem if users lose their balance.

Furthermore, there is a large, non-slip surface for improved stability. If users were to feel unsteady or uncertain while using this, they can hold onto the sturdy frame at any comfortable point.

Those that are more able and comfortable with the workout can utilise the handlebars in addition to the motion of the footplates. These handlebars will help with the right balance and posture for that nordic walking simulation.

There are also pulse sensors here to help users keep track of their heart rate. This appears on a simple console that is very easy to read. The majority of users like the way that this design and motion offers a low impact workout for their joints.

Some users do point out some small flaws with this Foldable SportPlus Air Walker.

One problem with this machine is that the instructions are all in German. It doesn’t take too much thought and effort to get it all set up and to understand the functions.

Still, an English translation would be helpful for those new to this sort of machine. There is the odd review here and there mentioning a lack of resistance, but that sort of intensity was never the point with this machine.

Others have had negative experiences with broken parts, but this is a rarity so you shouldn’t have to worry about that too much.

Does this all mean that the SportPlus Air Nordic Walker is still highly recommendable?

There is a lot to like about this cross trainer if you are in the right demographic to use it. There are limitations to the resistance, the range of motion and any features included. But, that is the point.

It is meant to be gentle and basic enough to give seniors and those with disabilities the chance to get started with a new exercise regime. Because it can do this so well, with a great frame and safe design, the SportPlus Air Walker is definitely highly recommendable.
